About the experience at AppSec Europe, 2018
OWASP AppSec EU Conference was wonderful from start till the conference End Day. It all started with the warm welcome at the QEII.
We have planned Lunch and connect in WIA Room for the event. The lunch experience was amazing. We had room full of Women and few men to support. We kick started the discussion with explaining what WIA is and what is our goal. Post which we opened the room for discussions.
Discussion Points:-
- How we can have wia representation in global/local chapters
- What can we do to bring more women representation in Women In AppSec
- Shared information on providing training and Mentorship for the women
- Brought trainer the trainer concept
- Reaching out to local chapter leaders to bring more women in the regular meetups and providing support from WIA
In the End, Jessie and Vandana from Women in AppSec did the podcast with Chris to discuss the project! They dive in what the project is and how the numerous OWASP Chapters around the world can participate!
