Vandana’s Complementary full day workshop (Wednesday, October 10):
- Vandana constructed the course content on her own, drawing upon the OWASP Top 10 and various OWASP Shepherd examples.
- Implementing the workshop, of course, involved OWASP’s usual collaborative value, including the following contributions by Swaroop Yermalkar, Josh Grossman (OWASP Israel Chapter), Avi Douglen (OWASP Israel Chapter Leader), Traine the Trainer opportunity for Zoe Braiterman
The workshop received positive feedback from enthusiastic attending learners for its following strengths:
- Great overview, introducing various technical skills for penetration testing
- A deep understanding of various types of web application vulnerabilities
- An open discussion forum via the OWASP #wiawebappentesting Slack channel
- A sense of confidence in how participants can best apply their new skills to their work
Some great connections were made at this year’s AppSec USA conference:
- Application security mentors and leaders (current and aspiring)
- Women at various levels of their software development / application security careers
The Legacy Continues:
Vandana will train again at AppSec California 2019, on Tuesday January 22, this time co-leading with Zoe, a unique OWASP WIA training mentorship opportunity:https://2019.appseccalifornia.org/index.php/program/sessions/
