In connected agentic systems, one small error rarely stays small. One agent produces a bad result. Another trusts it. A third executes an action. Retries multiply, costs rise and downstream workflows begin failing.
Resilience must be designed into the workflow:
- Limit the blast radius of each agent
- Use circuit breakers, timeouts and bounded retries
- Set cost, token and action budgets
- Validate outputs before downstream consumption
- Build graceful degradation and safe-stop states
- Test partial failure not only the happy path
What automatically stops your workflow when one agent begins behaving unexpectedly?
