AI doesn’t always come with an undo button.

Picture the control panel. A giant UNDO button, glowing, ready, and completely useless. Behind it, the damage is already done: an email already delivered, customer data already exported, a production setting already changed.

That’s the gap in how a lot of teams deploy agents. We’re used to software where mistakes can be rolled back, edited, or caught before anyone sees them. An agent that acts on its own doesn’t wait for that. By the time anyone notices, the email has landed, the data has left, and the setting is live. The button still glows, but the consequences have already happened. So the safeguard can’t be an undo. It has to come before the action. Before an AI agent acts, define what it can change, and when it needs approval. Some actions are safe to automate. Others should stop and ask a human first. Deciding which is which is the real security work, and it has to happen before launch, not after the first incident.

📌 Save this before your next agent deployment.
